One of the most prosperous Black communities in America was built from nothing, owned by the people who lived in it, and destroyed in less than a day by a mob that couldn't tolerate what we were capable of. 35 blocks. 1,256 homes burned. They called it Black Wall Street. We call it proof. The Reconstruction isn't a history lesson. It's a mission statement.
